Youth With a Mission (YWAM) is an international interdenominational missionary organization founded in 1960 by Loren Cunningham. YWAM’s mission is to “Know God and Make Him known” and its goal is to take the Gospel to the ends of the Earth. Our work around the world spreads to 1,300 bases in more than 177 countries. We count on a staff of more than 17 thousand full time workers. We work with children, adolescents and adults in both rural and urban ministries. All of the YWAM ministries are found in one of the following three categories: Evangelism, Equiping t and Mercy.
YWAM Puerto Rico was founded in 1984 and from its beginnings has been lead by Yarley Niño, native to Colombia. Our staff work is voluntary; each one of them holds the responsibility of raising their own personal finances. They are in charge of all aspects of the base’s maintenance and ministries. The majority of our work focuses on two areas, the first being to equip young people so that they may become missionaries, evangelism and service. We do this by leading them to a deep relationship with God, Biblical knowledge and through helping others. We use whatever means available to strengthen and make more effective the Gospel Message.
All of our schools are a part of the University of the Nations and are applicable for accreditation. The University of the Nations (U of N) was founded under biblical principles and holds the purpose of contributing to the Great Commission in equipping men and women spiritually, culturally, intellectually and professionally, motivating them to use their God given abilities to communicate and evangelize all nations.
This university is a part of Youth with a Mission (YWAM) and is unique in its wide outreach and missionary training. It holds campuses in more than 100 countries in every continent. The University of the Nations is global, trans-cultural and adaptable. Every year, approximately 15,000 students are involved in one or more courses in more than 50 languages in more than 300 different locations.
